The Columbia Falls boys used three wins in singles play and followed with wins at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to claim a 5-2 dual win over Whitefish on Thursday in Columbia Falls.

Parker Johnson of Columbia Falls stopped Jake Morison for the victory at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (11-9) in a close battler.

One match went three sets with James Jerva and Nathan Gedlaman of Columbia Falls stopping Skyler Munzing and Holden Roberts at No. 3 doubles, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.

"We had good matches all the way around," Columbia Falls coach Gary Yee said.

"Three and four singles and three doubles pulled through."

Winning at those singles slots for Columbia Falls were Caleb Baumann and Josh Potter.

Whitefish and Columbia Falls split their dual matches this season.

In girls dual action in Whitefish, the Bulldogs pulled off a 4-3 victory over the Wildkats.

"That's amazing," said Whitefish coach Patrick Dryden.

"The last time they shut us out. We're improving."

Whitefish won at 2-4 singles and 2-3 doubles.

"We were missing our No. 2 singles player, so I moved some girls up and it made for some interesting matches," Columbia Falls coach Jerry Smalley said.

"(Lexie) Bartkoski and (Marissa) Getts remain undefeated this season."

Bartkoski and Getts defeated Megan Danczyk and Lindsey Viscomi, 6-1, 7-5.

Columbia Falls plays Stevensville and Polson on Saturday in Polson.
