Columbia Falls boys, Whitefish girls finish second at ABC track

POLSON - The Whitefish girls and Columbia Falls boys came away with second-place team finishes at the ABC track meet in Polson on Saturday.

Whitefish, led by a winning long relay team, first-place finisher Marlow Schulz and twice runner-up Jessica Sagen, scored 93 points. Corvallis won with 115.

Schulz won the 800 and Sagen took second in both the 800 and 1,600.

The Columbia Falls boys had 102 points with three winners - Derrick Williams, Anthony Correa and Daniel Jones - and a sweep of the relay races.

Williams won the 800, Correa was first in the 200 and Jones had the best discus throw on the day.

Drew Galbraith of Whitefish won both the 110 hurdles and high jump and the Bulldogs tallied 48 points for fifth.

Columbia Falls' Cedar Jordt won the girls 400. Polson's Breanne Kelley won the 300 hurdles and the Pirates took third with 64 points. Adessa Durglo of Ronan-St. Ignatius won the high, long and triple jumps.

Polson's Clark Rubel won the shot put, Zion Lee won the pole vault and the Pirates boys had 81 points for third place.
