Abandoned car causes neighbor issues

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday from a Montana 206 residence from a man who was complaining that his neighbors’ car had long been illegally parked on his property and it was blocking his efforts to remove trees. It turned out that the neighbors didn’t own the car; it was never retained by the previous owner after he bought it in 1987. The owner was contacted, he refused to move the vehicle and was advised that he would be responsible for towing costs.

A woman calling from Concord Lane reported that while cleaning out a trailer, she found marijuana plants that were left behind by former tenants.

There was a report of a woman with broken glasses lying on the ground, possibly drunk, just off Three Mile Drive. It turned out she had been in an argument with her daughter.

A man calling from a U.S. 2 residence west of Columbia Falls reported that another had called and threatened to kill him over a tool loan.

There was a report of a suspicious man trying to enter a house on Emmons Canyon Road, scaring the residents. It turned out he had just been released from prison, traveled back to the Flathead by train and was trying to live in a home that had been foreclosed.

There was a verbal disturbance between a mother and a daughter on McKenzie Way. The girl was detained and transferred to temporary custody of Child Protective Services.

A woman calling from Spotted Bear Road in Martin City reported that a neighboring woman was throwing rocks at her cabin, banging on her door, yelling profanities and threatening her. The matter is under investigation.

At 2:20 a.m. Monday, there was a report of a wayward suspicious woman on a horse showing up at an East Evergreen Drive house. She was crying at the time, and asked to use a phone before leaving. Later, at about 4:15 a.m., there was a report from a convenience store regarding a woman who had tied a horse up to a pump and had been sleeping in the bathroom for about an hour. The last word on the woman was that she was on her way to a relative’s house on Willow Glen Drive.

Saturday, Kalispell Police got a report of a young male attempting to steal from a vehicle parked at a restaurant on U.S. 93 North.

A woman called to report that her ex-girlfriend was at an address on Ninth Street East robbing her, but it turned out to be a civil dispute.

There was a report of vehicles being egged in the area of 11th Street West and Sixth Avenue West.

A man called to report he had been punched by his brother in a parking lot on Hutton Ranch Road. The brother, who had been drinking, then left the area in a van.

At about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, a woman who had been drinking was reported to be screaming rape while she was outside a hotel room, tearing down curtains through a window on East Idaho Street. She left on foot and could not be located.

A Fly Way resident reported that her fence had been spray painted by somebody.

A woman who was visiting somebody at the county jail turned out to have outstanding warrants. She was arrested and put in jail herself.

A woman reported she was attacked by a female in the North Main Street area, with the suspect leaving the area down an alley. The victim had scratches and did not require medical attention.

A woman calling from a Kalispell hotel reported that she got of a vehicle in Ronan earlier in the day, and her husband drove away, probably because of medical issues that cause him confusion. He was later located.

There was a shoplifting report at a store on First Avenue East North.

A man calling from a Liberty Street address reported that a woman came to his door, accused him of stealing her shoes and threatened to bring people over to beat him up.

Near midnight Sunday, there was a report of a man running around on Third Avenue East with a bat, claiming that men who fled the area in vehicles had struck him with a bat.

At about 2 a.m. Monday, there was a report of a vehicle with slashed tires on North Main Street.

A man calling from a Harrison Boulevard address reported that while he was asleep, his ex-girlfriend  and some other people entered the residence and startled him. They ran out of the house when he got up.
