Polson claims conference softball championship

POLSON - Ten straight and another conference title.

The Polson Pirates softball team is in a pretty good place right now.

Kodi Woods broke open a big first inning with a 3-run triple and the Pirates remained undefeated in conference with a 11-0 Northwestern A victory on Thursday.

"They're playing with more confidence and defenitely hitting with more confidence," Polson coach Larry Smith said. "I think they feel like they can play with anybody."

Polson (16-4 overall, 7-0 conference) claimed the conference title with one game remaining, a home contest today at 6 p.m. against Libby.

Kylie Knutson and Makaliah Wilson each had two RBI and Sallie Sams added one. Shailana Duford picked up the win on the mound.
