Smooth sailing for top seeds at Northwestern A divisional tennis
LIBBY - There were no major surprises during first-day action at the Northwestern A divisional tennis tournament on Thursday.
Top seeds - Cree Maloney of Libby and Kendyall Rochin of Polson - both went 2-0 to advance to today's semifinal round.
In doubles, No. 1 seeds - Justin Evertz and Will Davey of Polson and Marissa Getts and Lexi Bartkoski of Columbia Falls - also advanced with wins.
Tournament action continues today.
The top four finishers - singles and doubles - advance to state next week in Great Falls.
