Ruby Ridge survivor Sara Weaver-Balter will share her story of forgiveness on Friday, May 27.

“From Ruby Ridge to Freedom” will tell the story of how Weaver-Balter overcame the pain to forgive those who shot and killed her loved ones.

Weaver was 16 when federal agents swarmed her parents’ property west of Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho, in August 1992. The incident left her mother, brother and dog dead.

The forgiveness came in 2003.

“The anger you hold for someone else imprisons you and keeps you from helping others,” Weaver-Balter told the Inter Lake last year.

The presentation begins at 7 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell.

It will include the Biography Channel’s “Aftermath” television interview of Weaver-Balter with William Shatner.

The Rev. Dave Sprunger of Gospel Light Baptist Church will do a live interview of Weaver-Balter following the video.

Sprunger came up with the idea to interview Weaver-Balter.

“She’s just got such a great story,” he said. “For her to come through such a horrific event so well because of the Lord [is] something we want to share with others.

“Coming to Christ and finding forgiveness can help you forgive others and overcome fear,” he said.

Admission is free, and coffee and dessert will be served.
