Ernest Leroy Endicott, 58

| May 29, 2011 2:00 AM

Ernest Leroy Endicott, 58, of Kalispell passed away April 18, 2011, at his family home after a long bout with Lou Gehrig’s disease.

He was born Feb. 6, 1953, the second son to Charles “Chuck” and Kathleen “Mae” Endicott.

Primary school was at Peterson and he graduated from Flathead High School in 1971. During high school he played guitar and sang in a local band, “Oaken Lyon.”

After high school, Ernie joined the Army and spent seven years on active duty, then 14-plus years with the Reserves.

Ernie married Lorraine Wigner of Kalispell and took on the responsibility of being a Dad and then a Grandpa. He was known by his family and friends as a kind, fair, mild-mannered, gentle man who loved us all unconditionally.

He had a love of music, gardening, nature and plain old relaxation. He served as a fine example for all of us and will be missed immensely.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, and eldest brother, Bill.

He is survived by his youngest brother, Michael Endicott, Lorraine, and grandchildren, Tyler and Mahala Wigner, all of Kalispell.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, in the Kalispell area. Please contact Lorraine at (406) 257-2254 for details and directions.

“God bless.”
