A homeless woman who was found dead Sunday in a shack off of Appleway Drive has been identified as Cynthia Buck, 47.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry said Buck is from the Flathead Valley but had been homeless recently. Her body was discovered in the shack by a transient on property that once was occupied by a sawmill.

Curry said the area is frequented by transients.

Buck’s body was transported to the State Crime Lab in Missoula for an autopsy, but there were no obvious signs of foul play, Curry said.

“We’re looking at a lot possibilities [for the cause of death], and the autopsy is going to answer those questions,” he said.
