Lewis David Mountjoy

Lewis David Mountjoy, 84, of Hot Springs, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011.

Louie was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Lonepine, the son of Leo and Hansine Mountjoy, the youngest of six children.

He attended school in Lonepine, and served in the Army attached Air Force from 1952 to 1954.

He married Donaldeen Grant in 1950. To this family two children were born, David Lewis and Donna Kay.

Louie started a business in Hot Springs that lasted his entire lifetime. He served with the Hot Springs Volunteer Fire Department for many years as fire chief. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, picking huckleberries, a good visit and most of all, a good joke.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; and his son, David.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donaldeen; daughter, Donna, and Roger Davis; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Louie's life with a potluck dinner will held at 1 p.m. Dec. 3, at the Lonepine Hall.
