Vickie Lynn Jackson, 55

| November 12, 2011 7:00 PM

Vickie Lynn Jackson passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at her Kalispell residence.

Vickie was born Dec. 7, 1955, in Whitefish to Jay and Arlene Rowe of Columbia Falls. She was the oldest of three children.

After graduating from high school she had a son, and later met George Jackson. They owned and operated a fishing tackle company (Jackson Tackle Company) until his passing in 1999. Vickie then started her career as a CNA at the Montana Veterans Home. She was a kind person with a joyful personality, forming close friendships with her co-workers and the residents.

Family was always the most important thing to Vickie. Late in 2008 her health and mobility declined, so she moved from Columbia Falls to Kalispell. Being unable to continue her work in health care gave her more time to enjoy being with her beloved grandchildren, Anton and Brooke. During this time she also devoted herself to interests such as attending church, adding to her various collections and maintaining relationships with her many close friends.

Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Jay Rowe; her husband, George Jackson; and her brother, Curtis Rowe.

She is survived by her mother, Arlene Rowe; brother Cecil and wife, Sherry; son, Edward Rowe; grandchildren, Anton and Brooke Rowe; nephew, Cody Sterna; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins; and the families of George’s sons, Frank and Jason Jackson — all of whose support never wavered.

The family would like to thank the Kalispell Dialysis Clinic and the staff of Kalispell Regional Medical Center for everything they did to ensure Vickie’s quality of care.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Central Christian Church, located at Second Avenue and Third Street, behind the Kalispell City Library in Kalispell.
