Michael Robert Stricklin, 51

| November 14, 2011 11:45 PM

Michael Robert Stricklin, 51, of Lakeside, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Mike was born in Billings March 24, 1960, to Robert and Emily “Ann” Stricklin. He and his twin brother, Patrick, were partners in crime and kept their parents and brothers, Charles and Victor, on their toes at all times.

After graduating from Billings Senior High School in 1979, Mike went to work at the family business, Automatic Vending. He moved to Lakeside in 1990. He worked at the Montana Nugget and Leland’s Honda before retiring early in 1999 to focus on playing.

After retiring, he had more time to do the things he loved, such as riding his Harley and Goldwing, driving his boats, riding his snowmobiles and just having fun.

Mike had so many friends, almost everywhere he went he knew someone, and if he didn't he would make friends quickly. Mike lived more in his short 51 years than most people live in their entire lifetime.

Mike is survived by his children, Paula Stricklin and her husband Landon Gomez, and Ryan Stricklin and his wife Ashley Stricklin, and grandson Ryley Stricklin; his twin brother, Patrick Stricklin, and brothers Charles Anderson and Victor Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. He also leaves behind his best friend, his dog Lucy.

At celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Kalispell Christian Center, located at 255 Summit Ridge Drive. A reception will follow at the Montana Nugget, located at 740 West Idaho.
