Jeannie Luckey, Kalispell branch manager for Raymond James Financial Services, has been named the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce Great Chief.

She is the 40th Kalispell community leader to receive the chamber’s oldest and most prestigious award that recognizes leaders whose civic and volunteer service has spanned a lifetime. The presentation, which included an original painting by Jane Latus Emmert, was made at the Chamber’s annual banquet Thursday night.

Luckey has been active with the Kalispell Chamber and is a past president. She earned the chamber’s Business Woman of the Year award in 1994.

She is a founding member of the Glacier Pilot Club, part of an international service organization focused on education and prevention of brain-related diseases and injuries. Luckey also helped establish the local BrainMinders program to educate children about helmet safety.

Luckey went on to be international president of Pilot International in 2002-03 and served on its executive committee for six years.

A dedicated Bobcat fan, she served as president of the Montana State Alumni Association for two years. She received a degree in business finance from MSU.

Luckey’s local involvement is extensive.

She has served on the board of directors for Glacier Symphony and Chorale, Hockaday Museum, St. Matthew’s Parish, United Way, Northwest Healthcare (including a year as the chairman of the board), and Montana West Economic Development, where she served as the chairman of the board for three years.

Luckey also was very involved in the Kalispell youth soccer program for several years and served as president of the Kalispell Youth Soccer Association.

She has been a financial planner and investment adviser since 1982.

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 107th year of community and business enterprise with a crowd of 400 at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel under the theme “Made in the Flathead.”

In keeping with the theme, the dinner featured a wide variety of local growers and suppliers including Amalthia Farms, Big Sky Brewing, Eva Gates, Great Northern Brewery, Kalispell Kreamery, Mission Mountain Winery, Montana Coffee Traders, Wheat Montana and Whistling Andy Distillery.
