College hosts two giving trees to benefit CASA

The Flathead Valley Community College Service Learning and Campus Corps offices are hosting two holiday giving trees to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocate.

The trees will provide the children CASA represents with gifts they may not otherwise have been able to receive this holiday season.

The nonprofit organization provides advocates to speak in court on behalf of abused, neglected and abandoned children to help secure safe, permanent and nurturing homes. With a steady increase in children entering foster care this year, a gift card, new unwrapped toy, book, clothing item or other gift could make this holiday season a little brighter for a child in foster care.

College students and employees, along with the public, are invited to donate gifts for those children in need whose ages range from infant to 18 years. The trees will be located in the Blake Hall foyer and in the Arts and Technology Building foyer on the FVCC campus through Dec. 9.

To make a donation, remove an ornament from one of the trees and purchase an appropriate gift for the gender and age specified on the ornament. Attach the ornament to your unwrapped gift and return the gift to the Service Learning office inside Blake Hall by Dec. 9.

For more information on the holiday giving trees, contact Carson Booth at 756-3372. For more information about CASA call 755-7208.
