Did big bad wolf get away with murder?

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office got a report from Birch Drive in Evergreen that a wolf was seen running down the road with a human hand in its mouth. A deputy was sent to patrol the area, but returned empty-handed.

Deputies were told on Sunday that burglars had gained entry through a wall at a business on U.S. 93 north of Kalispell.

Bicycles were reported stolen from a home on Bison Drive in the Kalispell area.

There was a report of guns being stolen from a garage on Sleepy Hollow Road in the Kalispell area.

A woman called reporting a physical disturbance at an Antelope Trail residence involving her 18-year-old stepson who was throwing and breaking things. He was eventually taken from the residence by his father.

There was a report regarding a man who appeared to be intoxicated and was walking in and out of traffic on Montana 35 in the Evergreen area.

A person calling from Birch Drive in Evergreen said a wolf had been running down the road with a human hand in its mouth. A deputy was sent to patrol the area.

Early Monday, at about 1 a.m., there was a report of a motor vehicle accident on Cramer Creek Road in the Somers area involving two women, ages 43 and 17, somehow getting pinned beneath a car for about 15 minutes after it apparently slid down an embankment. One of the women suffered hip injuries and the other had her legs caught beneath a tire. A tow truck that arrived was able to lift the vehicle, freeing the women, both of whom were treated by Somers emergency responders.


Responding to a vandalism report at a hotel on U.S. 93 South Sunday, Kalispell Police ended up arresting two teenage boys and one teenage girl for criminal mischief and obstructing a police officer.

A man reported that a vicious dog had gotten into his fenced yard on Third Street West and chased his wife. The owner of the dog was cited for having a dog at large.

A woman calling from a First Avenue West address reported the theft of a cell phone.

At about 12:45 a.m. Monday, a clerk at a convenience store on First Avenue East reported that an intoxicated man who had been beat up and was bleeding from the head was in the area. An officer located the man sleeping on a bench in a nearby park, but he refused medical treatment.

There was a report of a wallet being stolen at an address on Airport Road.
