Kalispell Police are investigating an armed robbery Monday morning at a convenience store on First Avenue East.

Officers were dispatched to the Zip Trip store at 5 a.m., and when they arrived they were told that a slender man had entered the store, displayed a firearm and demanded money.

The suspect fled the store on foot. He is described as weighing about 150 pounds and was wearing a blue hoodie under a green coat and a backpack. His face was partially concealed during the robbery.

The suspect did get away with money, but police are not disclosing the amount.

"We are currently reviewing surveillance video and speaking with witnesses that observed the suspect fleeing from the store. More information about the suspect may be forthcoming pending these reviews," according to a press release from Police Chief Roger Nasset.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call Kalispell Police at 758-7780 or Crimestoppers at 752-8477.
