Grace Dorothy Allick, 79

Grace Dorothy Allick, 79, “was called home to be with her Lord and Savior” on Sept. 28, 2011. Grace passed away after a battle with congestive heart failure at the Brendan House. She was surrounded by her loving family, friends and caregivers.

Grace was born in Andes, Mont., on May 24, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Dorothy Baxter.

Grace was married in 1953 to Sammy Allick and later divorced. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Grace loved life. She was a good listener and a caring person.

In her younger years, Grace was active in the Stillwater 4-H program and was an active member of Stillwater Grange for more than 25 years. She loved cooking, crafts, gardening and a pulling a good joke on her kids every time she got the chance.

Grace raised five children in Kalispell. She worked in several different food service businesses over the years but finally found her niche while working at Walmart for 10-plus years, from which she retired.

She resided in Kalispell, where she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, flower gardening and her family.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Dorothy Baxter; sisters, Ruth, Blanche and Dolly; brothers, Willie and Dickie; and one son, Robert.

Grace is survived by her brothers, Carl, Norman, Donald, Richard and Louis; and her sisters, Evelyn, Donna and Darlene. She is also survived by former husband, Sammy Allick; five children, son, Roger Allick and wife Pat, daughter, Doreen Marquez, daughter, Karen Pelton, and all of Kalispell, Merlyn Allick and wife Kathy of Colorado Springs, Colo., and son, Steven Allick of Kalispell; nine grandchildren, Jayson Marquez, Angel Johnson, Jeff Marquez, Pete Allick, Brandon Pelton, Jeremy Nielson, Larry Nielson Jr., Nicholas Allick and Kristofer Allick; four great-grandchildren, Makayla Johnson, Trysten Johnson, Jeremy Nielson Jr., and Kayenta Nielson.

A memorial service for Grace will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Bartholomew officiating. A reception and a time of sharing will follow the service at the church. A graveside service will be performed at Glacier Memorial Gardens following the reception. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.
