Stillwater Christian had 40 kills as a team and easily defeated Troy in straight sets in a nonconference volleyball match Tuesday.

The Cougars won 26-15, 25-8 and 25-19.

"Troy came in and showed that they have improved since our first meeting," Stillwater Christian coach Dave Shawback said. "My girls want to play better every time they play. They are working on trying to communicate better on the court and approach each game with the same intensity."

Shawback said the Cougars successfully got all of their serves in during the first set but later let their intensity slip in the more closely contested third set.

"We will continue to work hard in practice on being able to finish the match," he said.

Jordan Danz had 19 kills for Stillwater Christian while her teammate Morgan Paolini totaled 31 assists, four digs and two aces. Sarah Paolini had six kills and five blocks.
