Connie Hensley

Connie McCown Hensley, 77, of Kalispell, a devoted wife, cherished mother, grandmother and treasured friend, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, lovingly surrounded by her family at their summer home in Lakeside.

Connie was born to Acil "Ace" and Buenetta (Siblerud) McCown in 1934 at their home in Kalispell. She graduated from Flathead County High School in 1954. On Dec. 27, 1958, she married Jack Logan Hensley.

During high school she worked for Dickensen and Earleans Music Store and later for Mr. Hummer at the Kalispell Mercantile, often traveling to Seattle for buying trips. She had an impeccable sense of style and class. A true lady and role model, she was a volunteer for the Glacier Choral and Orchestra, the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes. She taught Sunday school at Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she and her family were members. Connie most lovingly embraced motherhood to its fullest. She loved her children deeply.

Connie will be dearly missed. She is survived by five precious children: Mark and wife Michelle, grandsons Logan, Ryan and Jackson of Kalispell; Dan and wife Sonya, grandchildren Chloe and Christian of Kalispell; triplet daughters Jane Hensley of Missoula; Jean and husband Brent Estep, granddaughters Katherine and twins Christine and Caroline of Sun Valley, Idaho; Joan and husband Joe Brennan, granddaughter Kathleen of Kirkland, Wash; two sisters, Diane McGwier of Post Falls, Idaho, and Paula Robinson Little of Kalispell; and many cherished cousins and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Logan Hensley, and her loving parents, Acil "Ace" and Buenetta (Siblerud) McCown. "She will be with us forever."

Family and friends are invited to celebrate the lives of Connie and Jack at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Private burials will take place the following morning.
