Cath the Vision Artist Opening Thursday at the Hockaday

Liz Moss, executive director and curator for the Hockaday Museum of Art, hangs work by Mayla Stufft of Somers, the artist who won the 2010 Catch the Vision: From Dreams to Discovery emerging artist competition, in preparation for the opening reception tomorrow night at the Hockaday starting at 5 p.m. According to Moss the goal for this year is to really encourage emerging artists who are still in school, either high school students looking to build their portfolio for college applications or college students who want to build their resume's for when they approach professional galleries. Those interested in entering the contest should go to www.hockadaymuseum.org and apply online. The deadline for submissions for this year's contest is December 1. The next exhibition will open January 5.
