Glacier spikers unbeaten at Missoula Invitational

MISSOULA - Glacier defeated Helena High, Missoula Hellgate, Libby, C.M. Russell, Polson and Columbia Falls to finish on top of the Hellgate Pool at the Missoula Invitational volleyball tournament on Friday.

Polson wound up third in the standings with Libby sixth and Columbia Falls seventh.

In the power bracket play, Glacier defeated Helena 25-20, 25-23 and Hellgate 25-22, 25-16.

Polson split in the power bracket, losing to Helena High 25-9, 25-22, but beating Hellgate 21-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Columbia Falls and Libby lost in the power bracket.

Missoula Sentinel defeated Great Falls, Butte, Big Sky, Whitefish and Frenchtown, split with Anaconda and lost to Helena Capital to top the Sentinel Pool.

Whitefish was fifth.

Sentinel won both matches in the power bracket, beating Butte and Great Falls High.

Whitefish was 2-0 in power bracket action, besting Big Sky and Anaconda.

Volleyball action resumes today at 9 a.m.
