Glacier 2nd for 3rd straight year at Missoula volleyball
MISSOULA - Make that three straight.
The Glacier Wolfpack volleyball team finished second at the Missoula County Invitational on Saturday - for the third straight year.
Helena High defeated the Wolfpack in the championship 25-19, 25-12.
"It was really frustrating," said Glacier coach Christy Harkins.
The Wolfpack defeated Butte, 25-20, 25-14 in the first round Saturday, then downed Great Falls 18-25, 27-25, 25-20 in the semifinal.
"Helena played very well and we just didn't step up to the challenge to compete at a high enough level," she said.
"(The Bengals) were firing on all cylinders today. We just didn't have what it took to make it through the last match."
"But it was a good weekend. We put a day and a half together. We just need to put two (days) together," she said.
The Wolfpack travels to Helena on Thursday. It will take on Helena Capital that day, then has a rematch Friday with the Bengals.
