Loyola rolls past Eureka

MISSOULA - Missoula Loyola quarterback Bo Hughes threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns as the Rams defeated Eureka 48-8 in a first-round Class B football playoff game Saturday afternoon at Rollin Field.

Loyola (7-2), which had 495 yards of total offense, led 34-0 at the half.

Eureka (5-4) scored in the fourth quarter on a 14-yard pass from Ryan Holder to Tanner Blankers.

The Lions were held to 56 yards rushing and 127 passing.

Holder was 11 of 24 passing for 112 yards.

Chris Ibach had 30 yards rushing for the Lions on 12 carries. He also had four receptions for 32 yards.

Bryce Bartmess had four catches for 43 yards for Eureka.

Loyola had 245 yards rushing.

It was the second meeting of the season for the two teams. Loyola also won the first matchup in Missoula in September, 21-13.

Loyola stays home for the playoffs, hosting Plentywood in a quarterfinal contest on Saturday.
