Man faces 2 new bail-jumping charges

A 23-year-old Kalispell man being sought by police after failing to appear in court now faces new related charges.

The Flathead County Attorney’s Office is requesting two additional felony charges of bail jumping against Nathan Bayreuther for failing to appear for a sentencing hearing Flathead District Court on March 15. One of the convictions he was to be sentenced for was a misdemeanor bail-jumping charge, which had been reduced from a felony.

Bayreuther is now facing two felony bail-jumping charges, misdemeanor bail jumping, felony criminal endangerment, felony assault on a peace officer, felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal trespass to vehicles across five cases.

He has already pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor bail jumping, felony criminal endangerment and felony assault on a peace officer charges.

If convicted of the remainder of his charges as well, Bayreuther faces up to 71 years in jail and a fine of up to $151,000.

Bayreuther currently is being sought by police as a bench warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear for his sentencing. It is his third bench warrant in nine months.

In total, Bayreuther already has been arrested and released three times. He was first arrested in November 2010 and bonded out, then failed to appear and was arrested again. He was later released on his own recognizance and was arrested in connection with a new crime three weeks later before eventually bonding out again.
