Conn Road stretch reopens

A stretch of Conn Road that had been closed during most of the winter because of hazardous, icy conditions has been reopened.

The 500 or so feet of county road that was blocked with gates opened back up this week, Flathead County Public Works Director Dave Prunty said.

The closed road section was south of Montana 40 between Whitefish and Columbia Falls.

Several years ago, county commissioners decided to allow gates to be installed on Conn Road and closed when driving conditions become hazardous, Prunty said.
