Kevin L. White Jr., 29

Sgt. Kevin L. White Jr., 29, passed away in his sleep at the family home on Sunday, April 1, 2012.

Kevin was born on June 5, 1982, in Richmond, Va., to Kevin L. White Sr., and Bobbie L. "Childress" White. Kevin was raised in Virginia.

He married Juliane F. Green on March 19, 2005. Kevin spent five years in the U.S. Army as a sergeant with the 82nd Airborne stationed out of Fort Bragg, N.C. Kevin served two tours of duty in Iraq. On his second tour, he was wounded and eventually was retired from the U.S. Army due to his disabilities.

Kevin is survived by his wife of seven years, Juliane; son, Liam Lynn White; parents, Kevin L. White Sr., and Bobbie L. Turner; two sisters, Meghan L. Arndt and Shannon L. Rapovy, both of Virginia; and grandparents, Donald White Sr., and Raymond P. Childress Sr.

 He had been staying with his parents-in-law, O.T. and Ann Green, in Somers.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 6, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Military honors will follow the service.
