Transients given a week to clear out

Deputies with the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a transient camp about half a mile from Meridian, where parts of tarps, pieces of wood and other items were visible. The person who reported the camp initially saw two or three transients there during the evening, and the property owners had also complained. A deputy checked out the camp and found two men living there. He told one of them they had until next Tuesday to pack up their belongings, clean up the site and leave. The man said he understood.

A Bigfork man reported his neighbors have been coming onto his Ferndale Drive property, tearing down his private property signs and have broken off his property markers. He told deputies he is worried his elderly neighbors might fall on his property and sue him.

A Somers woman wanted deputies to check on her 16-year-old granddaughter, who she said lives in a drug house in Whitefish.

A 15-year-old girl and a dog were bitten by another dog on Lore Lake Road in Kalispell. The girl’s thumb was bleeding after the incident.

A Kalispell woman reported being assaulted by her husband.

A Whitefish resident reported guns stolen from their mother’s home.

A home on Lost Prairie Road in Marion was burglarized.

The Kalispell Police Department received a report of two women and two men who ate at an East Idaho Street restaurant then left $9 on a $39 tab.

A mother reported her 5-year-old daughter had been assaulted.

A pair of girls were apprehended attempting to steal from a store on U.S. 93 South.

A theft was captured on video at a store on Hutton Ranch Road.

A wallet was stolen from a shopping cart on U.S. 93 North.

An iPod and CDs were stolen from a vehicle on North Main Street.

Coins were stolen from a home on Northern Lights Boulevard.

A bicycle rack was stolen from in front of a building on First Avenue West.

A backpack with pain medication inside was stolen on Fourth Avenue West.

A Fourth Avenue West woman reported to the Columbia Falls Police Department that she believes someone stole her dog.

Batteries were stolen from a boat on First Street East.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested a person for criminal contempt.

A theft was reported at a storage facility.

A theft was reported in a trailer park.

Officers with the Polson Police Department arrested three people for violating their probation.
