Miriam Lois (Fredenberg) Mack, 87

Miriam “Mere” Mack was born in Kalispell to Ruth Hazel Crandell and Anson George Fredenberg on July 26, 1924. She was the 10th child of 16. Miriam died at the Brendan House April 2, 2012.

Miriam married the love of her life, William Jason Mack, on Feb. 5, 1945. They had five children, Billy, Sandy Overshon, Laurence, Lenora Karlin and Ralph.

She, along with her husband, were faithful and very active members of (Gospel Light) Victory Baptist Church. They both loved old-time country music. Bill played the accordion and Mere loved to dance. She loved her gardening. She always had a large supply of cookies on hand to go with coffee whenever you stopped by for a visit.

Preceding her in death were her parents; four sisters Edith, Evelyn, Vivian and Doris; seven brothers, Walter, Orville, Harley, Robert, Wendell, Duane and Roger; her husband, Bill; two sons, Billy and Ralph; one granddaughter, Leah Jones; and Leah's father, John Jones (son-in-law).

Miriam is survived by son, Laurence, and daughters, Lenora Karlin and Sandy Overshon, all of Kalispell; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren in and around the Kalispell area; one sister, Carol Patterson, of Columbia Falls; three brothers, Dale and Orin of Kalispell, and Leslie of Columbia Falls; and many, many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 16, at Victory Baptist Church, formally Gospel Light Baptist Church, on Montana 35, with Creed Westphal officiating.
