Delores C. Struble, 81

| April 10, 2012 3:27 PM

Delores C. Struble of Prescott, Ariz., most recently of Mesa, Ariz., died March 23, 2012, from Alzheimer’s disease.

Delores was born on March 31, 1930, to parents Walter and Thea (Jore) Rolf in McIntosh, Minn. She grew up on a dairy farm there, along with her three brothers, Kenneth, Truman and Wallace. She moved with her parents to Kalispell in 1946 and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1948.

Delores was united in marriage to L. Wayne Struble on Nov. 25, 1948, in Kalispell. Delores and Wayne raised four children, Sharon, Linda, Marcia and Larry. Together they also played a significant role in the upbringing of most of their 10 grandchildren. Delores was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, a few she never met.

Delores loved and was deeply loved by her family. She will be remembered as being a faithful wife, devoted mom and fun grandma. Her family is her legacy. Her hands were always busy creating something; first for her family and then for others. She instilled a strong work ethic and “can do” attitude in her children and grandchildren.

Delores and Wayne moved their family many times prior to their move to Phoenix in 1966, at which time Delores declared she wasn't moving again. But they did when they moved to their retirement home in Hootenany Holler, rural Prescott, in 1990. Wayne passed away in April of 1991. Delores remained in her home until her Alzheimer’s disease necessitated her move to Mesa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; her daughter, Sharon; her brother, Truman; and great-grandchildren, Billie and Bradley Brown.

She is survived by her daughter Linda, and Ken Simonsen, of Sidney; daughter, Marcia Struble, of Mesa; and son, Larry, and Elizabeth Struble, of Prescott; grandchildren, Scott and Rebekah Blakley of Chino Valley, Ariz., Bob Pasley of Phoenix, Ben and Melisa Pasley of Fort Bragg, N.C., Joe Simonsen of Great Falls, Matthew Simonsen of Fairview, Tami Lombardi of Tempe, Ariz., Bill and Mae Brown of Prairie Grove, Ark., Steve Brown of Sachise, Texas, Laramie and Liz Struble of Kent, Wash., and Chelsie and Doug Barnard of Camp Verde, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Scott Jr., Taylor, Connor, Noah, Travis, Addison, Dominic, Alexavier, Kyle, Rebecca and Lyla; her brothers, Kenneth and Harriet Rolf of McIntosh, and Wallace and Lillian Rolf of Havre; sister-in-law, Agnes Rolf of McIntosh; sister-in-law, Yvonne and Glen Kartheiser of Columbia Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Delores Struble will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 9, at the Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Chapel in Prescott.

Memorials maybe given to the National Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of one’s choice.
