MISSOULA — The Flathead Bravette softball team finished on a high note on Tuesday.

The Bravettes had a rough time at the plate in an early 4-0 loss to Missoula Sentinel, but bounced back with 10 hits and a 11-8 victory over Missoula Big Sky in the second outing of the day.

“We definitely came back that second game and hit the ball really well. That was the difference between our win and our loss today,” said first-year coach Ashley Fusaro.

“I’m glad we ended on our win — and with some hits,” she said.

She complimented the efforts of pitcher Sidney Alberts. Alberts “hit her spots, kept the ball low and kept them off-balance,” she said.

The coach also complimented Carson Dawson for her defense.

MISSOULA — Small steps.

The young Glacier Wolfpack softball team is learning the sport one step at a time.

Glacier dropped a pair of Western AA matchups on Tuesday, falling 3-1 to Missoula Big Sky 9-2 to Missoula Sentinel.

But that’s all part of it, according to Glacier coach Joel Bemis.

“Against Big Sky,we played a pretty clean game. We had some good opportunities and had a few baserunners. We couldn’t quite capitalize on the opportunities that we had. We’re just learning how to do that,” Bemis said.

“We just struggled to hit the ball (against Sentinel),” the coach said.

Both Marissa Rogozynski and Hannah Atlee hit the ball well in that game. They were each 2-for-3.
