A 36-year-old Kalispell man pleaded not guilty to a pair of felonies Thursday in Flathead District Court after allegedly firing a gun in another man’s general direction.

Matthew Heuer is accused of initiating an argument with a man he had been upset with and firing a single shot from a revolver at the ground between them. He is charged with felony assault with a weapon and felony criminal endangerment.

If convicted on both charges, Heuer faces up to 30 years in jail and a fine of up to $100,000. His next hearing is scheduled for May 9.

He is out on a $20,000 bond.
