Flathead boys invite track champs; FHS girls 3rd

MISSOULA — Michael Managhan and Zach Perrin were individual winners for Flathead and the Braves collected another first with the 1,600 relay team en route to a first-place finish at the Missoula County Public School Invitational track meet on Saturday.

Managhan and Perrin had the top times in the 400 (52.46) and 1,600 (4:24.36), respectively.

Those two also ran on the relay, which posted a time of 3:34.24.

Flathead rolled up 91 points. Missoula Big Sky was next with 84.5.

Glacier tied Charlo for seventh. Both had 40 points. Glacier’s Josiah Baumgarner won the pole vault (13-0) and Todd Ogden had the best throw in the javelin (190-4).

Polson’s Riley Sampson won the shot put (51-1 1/2).

Led by double winner Tess Brenneman, Flathead tied for third place in the girls portion of the meet.

Brenneman, a senior, won the long jump (17-8) and the 400 (58.12).

Flathead and C.M. Russell both finished with 84 points.

Kwyn Johnson was Flathead’s other individual winner with a distance of 36-1 in the triple jump.

Corvallis claimed the team title with a 108 score. Missoula Big Sky was second, 101.

Lexy Boschee cleared 5-7 to win the high jump. She was Glacier’s top finisher.

Glacier was eighth with 42 points.
