Knives and threats reported by children

The Kalispell Police Department received two separate reports of children being threatened or intimidated by a young man or possibly two different men.

— There was a report that a 14-year-old boy was threatened by a man on Northwest Lane while he was walking home from school. The man told the boy he was going to cut his head off and throw it away.

— A woman reported that a 20-year-old man had been standing in front of her house with a knife in his hand. She also said he had threatened her 12-year-old son earlier that day.

In addition, a man reported that an 18- or 19-year-old man had shown him a silver-plated, .45 caliber handgun that had been sitting next to a marijuana bong in the trunk of his car.

Employees at an East Idaho Street restaurant contacted police about a drunk man sleeping in a booth who would not leave. The man later woke up and left after finishing his breakfast.

Officers responded to a day care on Fifth Avenue West after a 13-month-old boy pulled open a drawer in the bathroom, jamming the door shut. Employees were unable to get the door open and there was no window inside the bathroom. Officers got the door open.

A man and woman were arrested after they had been caught on video stealing about 20 boxes of ammunition from a store on Hutton Ranch Road.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested on a juvenile warrant for failing to appear for a court hearing on a traffic violation after she did not return to her guardian’s home.

A pair of high school students were released to family after being chased by employees of a Hutton Ranch Road store and later apprehended by police for shoplifting. The store did not pursue charges because the value of the items was so low.

A woman was arrested in the lobby of the police station while trying to pick up a purse that had been found. While she was there, it was determined she had a warrant out of Sidney.

A man was banned from a Ninth Avenue West property after trying to push in the screen and get inside, at which point the resident shoved him out and locked the door.

A ring was stolen from a home on East California Street.

A Kalispell woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office for extra patrols after believing her ex-husband’s girlfriend had been entering her home and stealing items. She said her ex had been texting their daughter to ask what cars they would be driving and when they would be gone. She told police he had tried to get his belongings back without her knowledge before.

Deputies arrested a man on U.S. 2 West in Columbia Falls on a warrant out of Hill County after they were called to a verbal disturbance by a woman. The man was arguing with the woman’s daughter, who had filed for a restraining order against the man. The woman said the man had threatened her daughter and baby with a gun in the past.

A man was reported punching an elderly woman on U.S. 93 North in Kalispell. The man fled the scene when he saw the person who reported him to police.

A 5- or 6-year-old girl wandered from her East Reserve Drive home and into a gas station after walking around in the road.

Two men were arrested on warrants out of Phelps County, Mo., at a campground on Helena Flats Road.

A church on U.S. 2 East in Hungry Horse was reported burglarized by two boys who dropped microphones on their way out. A laptop was missing. A black bag full of items missing from the church was later found.

The driver of a small red car almost hit a logging truck head on while driving down the middle of Montana 206.

A student at a school in Evergreen was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for a blood draw after an administrator believed the student was using drugs.

A drunk man was seen walking in the middle of a turn lane on U.S. 93 south of Whitefish.

Several children were seen putting dozens of large rocks in a road.

A man banned from a U.S. 2 East casino in Kalispell returned to the business.

A representative from a Hungry Horse business reported having video footage of a shoplifter.

Extension cords to trucks at a trucking business on Truck Route in Columbia Falls were cut.

A Bigfork man accused a store of short changing him.

The theft of an iPod on Ninth Street West was reported to the Columbia Falls Police Department.

A bicycle was stolen on 13th Street West.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report of criminal mischief on Larch Avenue.
