William Douglas 'Bill' Hill, 60

William Douglas “Bill” Hill, 60, died March 23, 2012, at his home in Bozeman.

He was the son of Col. George P. and Edna P. Hill.

Born in Washington, D.C., Bill lived in Virginia, Georgia, Germany and Indiana before graduating from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School and the University of Maryland.

Bill was a self-employed carpenter, musician, avid amateur geologist and historian. He traveled extensively in his Volkswagen camper. He lived in Bozeman the last 19 years of his life.

Bill is survived by a daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Hill; a son, Gabriel Meyer-Hill; and brothers, George P. III and Rowland J. Hill.

He was preceded in death his parents; and his sister, Katherine.

Bill’s body was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
