Families are invited to attend the Family Forestry Expo from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Trumbull Creek Educational Forest 2 miles north of the junction of U.S. 2 and Montana 40, just west of Columbia Falls.

Enjoy a day outdoors and take a walk in the forest through educational stations while learning about what lives there and the forest’s diverse uses.

A free logging camp lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be logger sports, a mule string and logging equipment demonstrations at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

No dogs are permitted.

The event concludes the annual weeklong Expo that gives area students hands-on exposure to the role forests play in everyday lives.

Last year more than 1,000 fifth-graders attended and 800 people participated in the weekend event.

This year’s theme is “Celebrating Forests for People.”
