Libby hands C-Falls 1st league loss

COLUMBIA FALLS — Lexi Hageness clubbed a three-run home run in the third inning and Kim Tangen also finished with three RBIs as Libby defeated Columbia Falls 9-1 in a Northwestern A softball contest on Friday night.

Libby ripped 13 hits and did all of its scoring in the first three innings. Columbia Falls had just two singles.

Libby’s six-run third inning put the game out of reach for Columbia Falls (6-2 overall, 2-1 league).

“We didn’t hit the ball well, they hit it extremely well,” Columbia Falls coach Dave Kehr said. “They jumped on us ... were aggresive at the plate and had a big third inning.”

FRENCHTOWN — Kaitlyn Indreland homered and singled in three at-bats and drove in three runs as Frenchtown whipped Whitefish 21-1 in Northwestern A softball play.

Frenchtown had 17 hits to four for winless Whitefish.
