Nancy Kamerick, 59

| April 21, 2012 6:31 PM

Nancy Kamerick, 59, wife and best friend, ended her battle with pancreatic cancer Tuesday, April 17, 2012, and “went home to be with her Lord Jesus.”

The life, love, and generosity of Nancy would be difficult to capture in words alone. She was born in Mason City, Iowa on Nov. 7, 1952, to Bob and Rita Speakar along with two brothers, Jerry and Chris, and sister Lisa.

Nancy attended high school and then flight attendant school in Mason City but after a skiing trip to Montana, decided this was where she wanted to be. She worked for UPS for many years, and was an inspiration to customers and fellow employees alike.

Nancy married Steve Kamerick in Las Vegas in 1991 after a very long relationship, and they made their home on Flathead Lake in Woods Bay. Nancy was mother to three children, Patti, Kenny and Matthew, and grandmother to Britney, Krista and Creag.

There were no strangers to Nancy; everyone was a friend who met her. Life was not complicated for her, since anyone's needs or desires came before her own. The compassion and care Nancy showed to everyone was incomparable and heartfelt. Her favorite home thing was her flowers and planters when weather was good but all year long, Nancy would knit blankets for the veterans, 40 or 50 a year for the last eight years and finished the last one two days before her death. Holidays were a time to invite people to her home for a nice dinner, who did not have family or perhaps were needy.

The joy of coming to know our Lord Jesus and anticipation of meeting Him in heaven one day was the highlight of her deepest thoughts. She read and studied the Bible and attended church until she was too ill. There was an unusual and addicting generosity of love that emanated from Nancy constantly and everyone was the beneficiary, not the least of which was her husband.

There really are no adequate words to express the depth or breadth of love between Nancy and Steve. Nancy added so much to the meaning of life to her husband that “will last unequaled until they hold each other once again for eternity.”

Nancy is survived by her husband, Steve; and children, Patti Ellis of Kansas City, Kan., and Kenny Kamerick and Matthew Kamerick, both of Wichita, Kan.

Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at Crossroads Christian Fellowship, Montana 35 and Montana 82 in Bigfork.

Memorial donations may be made in Nancy Kamerick’s name to the Cancer Center at KRMC, Sunnyview Lane, Kalispell MT 59901.

“Your gift in Nancy's name might just help save the life of your loved one.”
