Police told of duck-on-duck violence

Sunday afternoon, a Kalispell Police Department officer was flagged down by some women who found an injured female duck that other ducks were picking on.

According to a report from the dispatch center, the police officer spoke with an animal control officer and advised the healthy ducks would probably fatally injure the weakened duck.

Earlier Sunday, a caller on Hawthorn Avenue reported a scam phone call saying she was going to get a cash award from a store. The woman told police she called the store and they advised it was a scam.

An attempted burglary was reported on Fourth Avenue West North. The caller said a screen to a basement window was taken off for the second straight weekend.

Someone reported a DVD and GPS stolen out of a vehicle on Third Avenue West North.

Early Sunday morning, a caller at a business on U.S. 93 requested an officer for a drunk man passed out in the lobby. The caller had no description of the man except that he was lying all bundled up and snoring.

A bouncer on Airport Road told police a woman in a green Neon came through the parking lot and almost hit three people. The woman was going to leave in a vehicle but was stopped and put in a cab.

A caller on Ford Way told police an intoxicated woman was passed out and having difficulty breathing, and was bit by a spider earlier in the day. The woman was taken to the hospital.

Saturday night, a woman on Greatview Drive reported her ex-husband sleeping on the couch and said she has a restraining order against him. The man was arrested on a preliminary charge of felony stalking.

Earlier Saturday, a caller on Crestline Avenue reported a transient female trying to get into vehicles and garbage cans.

An officer advised that a woman reported as a possible drunk driver at Cemetery Road and U.S. 93 was just doing her hair.

Someone reported a side mirror broken off a vehicle on First Avenue West.

Two boys were arrested for shoplifting at a business on U.S. 93.

Saturday afternoon, a caller on Seventh Street West told the Columbia Falls Police Department a woman cut up the seat on the caller’s motorcycle.

Someone on 10th Avenue West reported a fraudulent real estate listing on the website Craigslist.

A woman on Rapids Avenue reported her 19-year-old nephew for causing trouble and threatening her and asked police to remove him from the house.

Someone on Kalispell Avenue reported criminal mischief to the Whitefish Police Department Saturday morning.

Criminal mischief was also reported on Wisconsin Avenue.

Later that evening, harassment was reported on Spokane Avenue.

An assault was reported on West Ninth Street.

Someone reported criminal mischief on East Fourth Street.
