Work continues on a project to build Reserve Drive South.

When completed, the new road will connect West Reserve Drive to Hutton Ranch Road, running just east of the Mountain View Plaza shopping center on U.S. 93.

Intersection work started Monday at the junction of the new road with West Reserve Drive.

Montana Department of Transportation said drivers should expect flaggers and portable signals stopping both directions of traffic on West Reserve Drive between the Stillwater River and U.S. 93 through Friday, April 27.

On the other end of the project, Hutton Ranch Road is closed from the four-way stop near Walmart toward the east.

Last fall, the Montana Department of Transportation awarded a $2.9 million contract for LHC Inc. of Kalispell to complete the Reserve Drive South project this spring.

Meanwhile, work also continues separately on a $1.699 million project to resurface six-tenths of a mile of West Idaho Street between First Avenue West and Meridian Road.

Alternate routes are recommended for drivers in the West Idaho Street area.
