Missoula Big Sky used three singles to fuel a three-run burst in the top half of the seventh inning to pull away for a 5-1 victory over Flathead on a damp Thursday afternoon at the Conrad Complex.

Big Sky had held a 2-1 lead on the Bravettes after five innings of their Western AA softball outing.

Big Sky totaled nine hits to Flathead’s four.

The Bravettes scored in the fourth inning when Shayla Tweet ripped a standup triple and reached home on a sacrifice fly by Sidney Alberts.

“We played well for five innings,” Flathead coach Ashley Fusaro said. “We had a hard time finishing the game.”

Fusaro said Carson Dawson “pitched well for us.”

Flathead was also scheduled to face Missoula Sentinel, but that contest was rained out.

Flathead (2-5 league, 4-8 overall) entertains Helena High and Helena Capital on Saturday.
