Creston man turns in funny money

A concerned resident visited the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to turn in “half-printed” counterfeit money he found at the Creston landfill. According to Sheriff Chuck Curry, only one side of the sheet had been printed. Curry said they have no indications that any organized counterfeit groups are operating at the moment.

A Lidstrom Road resident in Whitefish shouted that he was getting rid of his marijuana plants while another person was on the phone with deputies reporting the drug activity.

An 8-year-old girl who wandered away from home just a few days ago was up to her old tricks, again wandering to a home on Cheery Lynn Road in Evergreen. The girl’s grandparents had just signed papers for her to be sent to a children’s hospital in Butte.

An upset resident of Mission Trail Road in Evergreen reported motorists speeding down the road to bypass the traffic signal at the intersection of Whitefish Stage Road and West Reserve Drive. Deputies will be doing increased radar work in the area.

Someone entered a home on U.S. 93 South in Whitefish by cutting a hole through a screen in a bedroom window. The burglar stole several items and trashed the house.

The top of a mailbox was sawed off and stolen on Montana 206 in Columbia Falls.

A dog bit a girl, breaking her skin, on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

A Kalispell man received a package he was waiting for, but the box was open and the item stolen.

A person was caught on video stealing fishing line and bait from a store on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

Officers with the Columbia Falls Police Department arrested a man wanted in Glacier County who allegedly had been involved in a theft about an hour before after an employee of a pawn shop on Ninth Street West reported the man came in with stolen merchandise.

Someone dumped a portable basketball hoop in a field at the end of Diane Road.

Two girls stole a bicycle and left it at a school on Ninth Street West.

Officers with the Whitefish Police Department arrested a motorist during a traffic stop on Wisconsin Avenue.

Drug activity was reported on Iron Horse Drive.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested a person for possession of dangerous drugs on Montana 212 near U.S. 93.
