Kootenai Valley drops Lakers; moves to 5-0

EUREKA — Ryan Holder, RJ Glover and Dalton Smith combined on a two-hitter as Kootenai Valley blanked the Kalispell Lakers A 2-0 on Friday in the Earl Russell Round Robin American Legion baseball tournament.

Holder tripled with two outs to score Smith from first in the first inning. Smith had reached on a single.

Eureka’s other run crossed home plate in the bottom half of third when Gallen Siullivan scored on an error.

Eureka (5-0) will face Mission Valley B at 5:30 tonight in tournament play.

There was just one tournament game on Friday.

Thursday’s tournament opener — Kootenai Valley vs. Glacier Twins — was rained out and is rescheduled for Sunday.

Today’s other tournament games are: 8:30 a.m. — Glacier vs. Libby; 10:45 a.m. — Missoula Pioneers vs. Mission Valley; 1 p.m. — Mission Valley vs. Libby; and 3:15 p.m. — Mission B vs. Kalispell Lakers.
