The Kalispell Police Department received a report from a Ninth Avenue West man who said a girl he’d met at a bar on Airport Road spent the night at his house. The girl’s mother is now “freaking out,” he said, because the girl is only 14 — a fact he said he did not know until afterward.

A nurse at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center later reported the incident as a sexual assault perpetrated by the 30-year-old man.

An 8-year-old girl was reunited with her family after she got out of her father’s truck while he made a stop. Her father did not notice that she had gotten out.

A Fifth Avenue West North resident complained about a cat on a leash in front of a house that howls constantly and sounds like a small child whining.

A 4-year-old boy on Eighth Street West stepped on a bat. The family put the bat in a container and turned it over to an animal control officer. They also took the boy to the emergency room to be checked out, even though he had not been injured.

A burglary alarm at a business on Eighth Avenue West North was set off three times in one day, once by pigeons and twice by a groundhog.

A youth was apprehended and released to his mother after officers responded to a report of two youths snooping around in an alley off First Avenue East.

Two youths were arrested and later released to family members after it was reported that they were stealing beer from a Third Avenue East North business.

Two teenage boys were reported looking in cars on West Idaho Street.

A Sixth Avenue East resident reported that her neighbor said a man driving a green Jeep was taking pictures of her house and through her windows.

Several people claiming to have a broken-down vehicle were asked to leave a parking lot off U.S. 2 West, where they were asking customers for money.

A building on First Avenue East was shot with purple paintballs.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a distraught and frightened woman who said a man who was punching holes in a wall assaulted her and threw a spatula at her as she was leaving. He was now coming after her on Trailridge Road, she said.

A Big Horn Drive resident reported several youths tried to walk into his house and steal items from inside. His friend saw the would-be burglars and ran them off.

A man who was sleeping on a Montana 83 property in Bigfork reportedly tore up several fences when he drove off. The person who woke the man and reported the incident said he believes the man was on drugs.

A widespread prank was continued in Bigfork, where a South Crestview Drive resident received a bogus text message that read, “It’s OK, I’ve buried the body.”

A Yodelin Ridge Road resident reported she couldn’t let her children out of the house because a gray cat kept trying to attack them.

A man was arrested for a probation violation after deputies investigated a report of a physical disturbance on Somerset Drive.

A Beaver Lake Road woman reported another woman in the neighborhood was giving alcohol to minors, including her nephew.

A motorist was reported driving into oncoming traffic on Willow Glen Drive.

A motorist was reported swerving all over the road and driving into oncoming traffic in U.S. 2.

An iPod and binoculars were stolen from a vehicle on Stage Ridge Road in Bigfork.

A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle on Plaza Drive in Lakeside.


The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of an irate 79-year-old woman hitting her husband over the head with a cane at a Sixth Avenue East North residence.

A man and woman were reported screaming at each other in the street on Ninth Street West.

An assault was reported on 12th Avenue West.


The Whitefish Police Department received a report of someone trying to break into a vehicle on State Park Road. The thief stole a bucket and a garden hose in the same area.

A Baker Avenue resident reported someone was lighting off fireworks east of her home across the river.

Someone pulled the lights off a garage on Edgewood Place and slashed the tires of a vehicle inside.

A bag was stolen off the luggage rack of a motorcycle on Central Avenue.


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a residential burglary on St. Mary’s Lake Road.


The Polson Police Department received a report of shoplifting at a supermarket.
