Boat a storm casualty in Whitefish

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a Lakewood Court home where a 14-foot boat in a boat lift fell into the water when wind tipped over the lift. The boat was filled with water and eventually recovered by a salvage company.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received two reports of an ongoing problem on U.S. 2 East in Coram where, in the fenced-in area behind a bar, people were howling at the moon most of the night long after the bar closed.

Two drunk people were reported running around on U.S. 93 South in Lakeside wearing just underwear and jumping in front of cars. A semi-trailer had to slam on its brakes to avoid hitting the pair.

A girl was apprehended and released to her mother after she ran away from a youth program in a vehicle that was eventually reported stolen.

A person was arrested on Bear Trail in Whitefish on a $50,000 warrant for assault on a minor.

Someone broke into a garage on Bobcat Lane and stole two motorcycles and several other items.

An ongoing problem of vehicle break-ins was reported at a gas station on East Reserve Drive.

Someone cut down several trees on Star Meadows Drive in Whitefish without permission, then took the trees onto U.S. Forest Service property, cut them up and took them.

Someone ransacked an unlocked car on Deer Trail in Whitefish.

A folder containing credit cards and other items was stolen from a vehicle on Mallard Loop in Whitefish.

Liquor, two $150 pairs of shoes and other items were stolen on Beta Road in Hungry Horse.

A wallet was stolen from a pickup truck on Mallard Loop in Whitefish.

Several items were stolen from a shop on Conrad Drive.

A theft from a vehicle was reported on Whitetail Lane in Whitefish.

Graffiti was reported on a bridge on Tetrault Road.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of a drunk man walking down Nucleus Avenue, stumbling badly and nearly falling off the curb into traffic before walking into a bar.

A resident of a trailer park on Ninth Street West complained about a woman revving the engine of her motor home and blowing oil smoke into homes in the trailer park.
