Drunken man lies down on road

The Kalispell Police Department responded to multiple reports of intoxicated pedestrians early Saturday morning.

A drunk man was reported laying in the middle of the road on Third Avenue East at 12:30 a.m., talking to people but refusing to move. One motorist waited with their hazard lights on to make sure he did not get run over. The man ran when officers arrived, but he was apprehended and transported to a residence on Seventh Avenue East.

A pair of drunk people were reported at a motel on East Idaho Street, one of which laid down in the driveway. They were eventually removed.

A drunk man was reported passed out in the hall of a hotel on U.S. 93 South. The man was awakened by medical responders and returned to his room.

A man requested a police standby so he could safely leave an apartment with his girlfriend after he was jumped by several men, who punched him repeatedly in the face. The man refused medical treatment, although the officer noted the left side of the man’s face was very swollen. He had been drinking, but did not appear to be highly intoxicated.

A man reported a suspicious vehicle following him on Kelly Road and noted that he had recently been receiving threats from several people on Conrad Point Drive in Lakeside. He was advised to file for a protection order.

A man was arrested on a warrant after officers responded to a report of a physical disturbance on Denver Avenue.

Officers had a motorcycle towed after a Sixth Avenue West resident reported a young man dropped it off at her house and told her to keep it for a few days and hide it for him.

A person was reported driving an all-terrain vehicle 50 miles per hour on Empire Loop.

Two youths were reported destroying an abandoned vehicle on Fourth Street West.

A group of four youths were warned after being caught lighting a sparkler bomb on Second Street West.

A fight was reported outside a bar on Airport Road.

A pair of men left a restaurant on East Idaho Street without paying for their meal.

Approximately $6,000 was stolen from a home on Fifth Avenue West.

A person reported someone had illegally charged $276 to their debit card at a supermarket on West Idaho Street.

A wallet was stolen in a store on Hutton Ranch Road.

A backpack with a title and manual to a motorcycle inside was stolen on Third Street West.

A cell phone was stolen on Second Street East.

A Droid phone was stolen in a store on Hutton Ranch Road.

A bicycle was stolen on Eighth Avenue West.

A bicycle was stolen on Fifth Avenue East.

A string trimmer was stolen on Third Avenue East.

A theft was reported on Second Avenue East.

Several items were stolen from a locked vehicle on Fourth Avenue East.

A $50 gift certificate was stolen from a vehicle on Fourth Avenue East.

A vehicle was burglarized on Fourth Avenue East.

Officers with the Whitefish Police Department dealt with several issues on Central Avenue over Friday night and Saturday morning, including an intoxicated pedestrian, criminal mischief and a physical disturbance, at which they arrested a person.

A theft was reported on Third Street West.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested a person for aggravated driving under the influence on Old U.S. 93.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at a bar.
