Second time's a charm

Whitefish artist James Bakke sent this black and white drawing of Queen Elizabeth to her in 1952, just before she was crowned the queen of England. He describes it as a “wash” he did with a small brush in black ink. The queen sent it back, saying she could only accept gifts from those “with whom Her Majesty is personally acquainted.”
