Audrey Jacobson, 83

| August 8, 2012 3:47 PM

Audrey Jacobson, 83, a longtime resident of the Hi-Line area, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Aug. 5, 2012, in Rockport, Texas.

She was born in Calvin, N.D. on Sept. 21, 1928, and moved to Montana with her family during the Depression. She was the valedictorian of Hamilton High School's Class of 1946.

Audrey married Gene Jacobson on Oct. 1, 1949, and they later settled down in Cut Bank where they raised their family of three boys. Audrey’s passion was following the activities of her children and grandchildren; she rarely missed an event in which they were involved. Audrey also enjoyed bowling and playing golf with her friends.

She worked as a bookkeeper with her brother Del Gage for many years, before moving across the mountains to Columbia Falls and later retiring to spend time at Flathead Lake and in Arizona.

Audrey is survived by her two sons, Terry and Beverly, and Greg and Lori; two brothers, Allan and Del Gage; and a sister, Marilyn Parker. She adored her three grandchildren, Todd and Aubrey, Katy and Jesse, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; and her son Jay, who recently passed away.

A memorial service for both Audrey and Jay will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
