Barbara Joan Cooley, 80

Barbara Joan Cooley, 80, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

She was born June 29, 1932, in Durango, Colo. She loved her mountains!

She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Smith; daughter, Deborah Cooley; grandson, Adrian Johnson; and great-grandson, Casey Kirkendall.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Lowell B. Cooley; sons, Mark P. Johnson, and Stephen H. Johnson; grandchildren, Brant Hill, Stephanie Johnson, Courtney Johnson, and Blake Thompson; great-grandchildren, Cody Kirkendall, Gabe Thompson, Sarah Torian and Wesley Hill; and sister, Mary Ida Roberts. She also leaves behind her husky, Chanute IV.

There will be a visitation for Barbara from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13 at the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. The family will hold a private memorial service for Barbara at a later date.    

A very special thank you from the family goes to the staff and doctors at Kalispell ICU, “Super People.”

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be made on Barbara’s behalf to the Red Cross, as they worked miracles getting two service members home from Alabama and Korea in less than 24 hours.
