Elaine Elliott, 70

| August 15, 2012 9:12 AM

After a very short battle with liver cancer, Elaine Elliott “went to be with the Lord" on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at home with her family by her side.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1941, in Pana, Ill., to Carl and Lorene Wright. She grew up in Nokomis, Ill., but later moved to Vandalia, Ill., after she married Roy Elliott.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Wehrle Brothers John Deere dealership for years and prepared taxes during tax season. In the mid-’80s, she moved to Orlando, Fla., where she worked for The Missing Children's Center.

After the death of her son, Barry, in 1997, she moved to North Carolina and worked for an insurance company. Two years later, she moved back to Illinois after the death of her granddaughter. In 2003, she moved to Kalispell to live with her daughter Janet, and worked for National Flood Service to the present.

Elaine was an active member of Landmark Worship Center. She was passionate about her church and Jesus Christ. She also was passionate about being able to help those less fortunate through programs such as Operation Christmas Child and Compassion International.

She was preceded in death by her son Barry, and granddaughter Nikki.

She is survived by her son, Allan, and Cindy Elliott, of Ramsey, Ill.; daughter, Connie, and Leo Nichols, of Vacaville, Calif.; daughter, Janet Elliott, of Kalispell; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ron, and Becky Wright, of Hillsboro, Ill.; and many cousins.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today, Aug. 15, at Landmark Worship Center, 1765 Montana 35 in Kalispell (1.2 miles east of Snappy's, on the left) with the Rev. Dawn Schnur officiating.

The family would like to express a very warm heartfelt thanks to Home Options Hospice, Lori Mitchell, the saints of Landmark Worship Center, National Flood Service, Insty Prints, and all the family and friends who have been so supportive through this short journey. Thank you to all who touched the life of Elaine!
