Marjorie (Kinsey) Clandfield

| August 21, 2012 4:25 PM

Marjorie (Kinsey) Clandfield, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully Aug. 18, 2012, in Kalispell, in the loving presence of family.

Marjorie (Marj) was born to Rollo William and Sarah Lavern Kinsey in Lethbridge, Alberta. Marj was raised in a home of farming and ranching in Raymond, Alberta, of which she carried many fond memories.

Following high school graduation, Marj moved to Calgary, where she met and married her best friend Michael “Mike” Arthur Clandfield. They were married in Raymond on May 25, 1957, and then resided in Calgary. Marj and Mike later moved to Lethbridge, Grassy Lake and Medicine Hat, Alberta, where they owned and shared several successful businesses together throughout the years.

In 1984, they relocated to Bigfork, where they owned and operated Korner Kitchen/Kings Lounge until their retirement in 2007. Marj was known for her excellent homemade cooking, which was the cornerstone of their business. Marj and Mike made the business a family endeavor, which involved all their children and grandchildren over the years. Marj enjoyed her many customers and friends she met throughout ownership and was a dedicated perfectionist in both her personal life and business.

Following retirement in 2007, Marj and Mike spent much time with their family and friends and frequently had the opportunity to travel. Her husband will miss her dearly as will her family. She shared a close bond with each and every member. She was proud of all of her children and grandchildren who she enjoyed spending time with and watching grow. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and mentor who will be missed forever.

Marjorie was preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers, David “Dick” Kinsey and William “Bill” Kinsey; nephew, Chris Kinsey; and grandchild, Cole Huff.

She is survived by her brother, Robert “Bob” Kinsey, and wife Kay, and nieces Julia and Sally, of California. She will be loved and remembered by her three children, Jeff Clandfield of Bigfork, Kinsey Lee Huff and husband Scott of Kalispell, and Lisa Clandfield of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and eight loving grandchildren, Mark Huff, Brad Huff, Matthew Huff, Meghan Huff, Kaitlyn Clandfield, Morgan Clandfield, Kyle Clandfield and Sarah Clandfield. She will also be dearly remembered and missed by many cousins, relatives and friends.

There will be a time of visitation with the family to greet guests from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, in the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Chapel. Funeral services for Marjorie will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Raymond Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3rd Ward Chapel in Raymond, Alberta, with burial in the Temple Hill Cemetery.
