Band too loud for local residents

Kalispell Police Department officers responded to a building on South Main Street after receiving two calls from residents of Fourth Avenue East and one from a First Avenue West resident complaining about a band playing loudly late Thursday night. The First Avenue West resident was belligerent with dispatch, saying he would create a different kind of problem if police didn’t handle it. Officers got the name of the group’s manager to forward to other officers as the band said they would be playing frequently.

A 22-year-old woman reported having eaten marijuana candy and was now feeling lightheaded and dizzy with a rapid heart rate.

A woman was arrested for being a minor in possession of alcohol after receiving a breath alcohol test while in court.

A drunk 24-year-old man was arrested for theft and assault after having been apprehended while attempting to shoplift from a First Avenue East North business. He was also described as “mouthy.”

A woman reported her dog was attacked by two pit bulls, which gave her dog puncture wounds. She said the dogs came running out of a Seventh Avenue West house as she walked by.

A 17-year-old girl was bitten on the back of her leg by a dog on South Cedar Drive.

Several youths were reported running around on the roof of Legends Stadium.

A Windward Way apartment was burglarized and several items were stolen.

A Kenway Drive resident complained that someone tipped over their bird bath and they may have a suspect.

A Financial Drive resident found drugs in a box and asked to have an officer pick them up.

Someone broke the rear window of a vehicle on U.S. 93 North and stole a wallet from inside.

A yellow mountain bicycle was stolen on Fifth Avenue West.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a woman in her mid-20s, unconscious on the ground on Prairie View Way. When someone tried to wake her up, they found her to be very drunk and could smell the alcohol on her. Upon waking up, the woman said “I’m good.” She was transported to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where she was met by her parents.

A man told deputies he was hosting an event and asked if he could rent or borrow a bullhorn from the sheriff’s office. He was advised they did not do that.

A homeless man in his 20s or 30s assaulted a woman, pulling her hair and scratching her face, on the Rails to Trails path near its intersection with the U.S. 93 bypass, where a transient camp had been established.

A U.S. 2 East resident in Martin City interrupted a person trying to break into his house by prying a window open with a knife. The person dropped the knife and fled.

Someone shoved a gate off its posts with a truck on Blacktail Road in Lakeside.

A Kalispell man reported he had someone work on his vehicle and when he got it back it had been damaged.

A group of llamas were reported on the loose, running down Browns Meadow Road in Kila.

A man was arrested after a domestic disturbance on First Street South East in Hungry Horse.

A 21-year-old man punched out the window of a vehicle on Bernard Road.

Someone threw a rock through the windshield of a vehicle next to the Hungry Horse bridge and stole a purse and backpack from inside.

Someone shot the windshield of a truck with a BB gun on Grand Drive in Bigfork.

An unlocked truck was burglarized on Montana 35.

A bicycle and bicycle saddle bags were stolen on Shady Lane.

The Whitefish Police Department received a call from a woman complaining about a “ride guy” who she referred to in obscene terms and told police she wanted them to “teach him to be more human.” She hung up after it was determined there was no emergency.

A man was arrested during a traffic stop on U.S. 93 South.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of a 20-year-old man who was hit by a car on Meadow Lake Boulevard, but was uninjured.

A girl and five boys, all in their mid-teens, were reported hanging out in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on Ninth Street West and smoking cigarettes.

A group of teenagers were reported around a bonfire drinking beer and smoking marijuana near Fourth Avenue West. When they were located, none of them were intoxicated and they were released.
